We are located at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
A leading public research university
Founded in 1867, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is ranked #9 among public universities and is home to more than 56,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
The university sits in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana (total population 207,000) in east-central Illinois — about 140 miles south of Chicago, 125 miles west of Indianapolis, and 180 miles northeast of St. Louis. The University of Illinois Willard Airport, on the outskirts of town, offers convenient connections to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW).
Community
As a diverse college community, there is plenty to do in Champaign/Urbana. Downtown Champaign offers locally owned restaurants and pubs, outdoor cafes, and historic theaters, among other hidden gems. The State Farm Center hosts live music, comedy, and musicals throughout the year, and is home to the Illinois Fighting Illini basketball and wrestling teams.
